| Mechanics, angular motion, gravitation elasticity, bulk modules of a gas, the bending of beams, principles of rocket and satellite motion, fluid flow; Bernoulli's theorem and its applications, viscosity, surface tension, the Joule-Thomson process, the kinetic theory of gases, real gases, Vander Waals' equation of state for a real gas, specific heat capacities of gases in thermometry. Assessment is continuous by assignments and a final examination.
Prerequisites: 3 relevant passes at GCE A level or PSF 2602.
